Topic-Based Conversational Networking

  • Cyber Response for Emergency Management

Cyber events are a growing threat to businesses and governments of all sizes. County governments are particularly vulnerable, as they often have limited resources and expertise to respond to these attacks. This session will provide county governments with a program guide on how to prepare for and respond to cyber events from the emergency management perspective. The session features a case study from Indiana, where a new Cyber Response Annex has been developed and rolled out to all 92 counties.

  • Business Resiliency BIA – Assessments that produce meaningful data

In today's business landscape, it is unfortunate that Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) often become nothing more than a box to check off on a compliance checklist. Instead of being seen as a valuable opportunity to create additional value, they are approached solely to satisfy the demands of auditors and regulators.

By shifting the focus from compliance to value creation, organizations can transform the BIA process into a proactive and strategic tool. This approach empowers them to not only meet the expectations of auditors and regulators but also to strengthen their business and position themselves for long-term success.

  • Technical Resilience - What is it?

In this session, I will share the 4 basics of technical resilience and how they translate to high availability, IT disaster recovery and cyber resilience in both on-premise data centers and cloud operations. The intended audience for this session will be resilience professionals with and without technology backgrounds. I will share examples from my 40+ years’ experience in the information technology operations arena and 20+ years’ experience in business & technical resilience.

Resilience requires everyone in an organization to participate in building an organization’s resilience capability. In this session, we will also cover what is required from the business and the technology teams to deliver resilient operations.
